Hello everyone, have we met? My name is Marni – I’m one of your receptionists here at Fairhaven Veterinary Hospital – fondly known as FVH.
I decided maybe I would tell you a little about myself and my thoughts about FVH. I have been working in the Veterinary industry for approximately 10 years at various hospitals. During this time I have had the opportunity to work in many different positions allowing me to see many sides of Veterinary medicine. My personal ideal is working with you and your pet, being able to give time to both is very rewarding. Being a Veterinary receptionist makes this possible – I love it!
It was such a change….
When I came to FVH for my first interview, I felt very comfortable and excited about working for what appeared to be a great group of people. I was buzzing with excitement when our Practice Manager; Mike, asked if I would like the position of receptionist. It was so great to know, I was going to work at Fairhaven Veterinary Hospital. What I wasn’t prepared for once I started working was….everything else.
After working here for several weeks, I found out what it was like to work in one of the most professional clinics I have ever seen. It’s wonderful working with such knowledgeable people. All of the support staff has been trained as an assistant or licensed as a technician. Everyone here is constantly educating themselves so that they are more knowledgeable and can do the best for our clients. The hospital has some of the newest and most up to date equipment as well, this has not always been my experience at other hospitals and I believe one of the reasons clients get such great care here. It is all about the client and there family pet. The environment is so calm and everyone gets along, this helps to keep the animals calm and happy as well. There is so much love and understanding for the animals that it’s a great environment overall. One of the things I really appreciate about Fairhaven Veterinary Hospital is part of the mission statement: “The philosophy of Fairhaven Veterinary Hospital is to provide compassionate and quality care for both client and patient.” They actually mean it here!
It is also awesome to be part of a company that gives back to the community. You can check out our website for many different programs and community contacts that we believe are some of the best. As well as we have several programs throughout the year that help to support different programs and groups. Once a year we even pick a group or cause to donate/match funds for through one of our yearly promotions. And, you can always find a collection bucket for Whatcom Humane Society on the counter. Every year we are also one of the locations you can find WHS annual calendars.
All I know is that I’m glad I’ve become a part of this team!! I’m proud of what we do here.
It’s been a privilege getting to know many of you and your pets over the years. I hope to get to know many more of you.
SO…Next time you’re in the neighborhood stop in and say hi!! If you want to…bring your pet in anytime, we’ll make sure to give a little loving and a treat.
