There are many reasons why a dog may need to wear a muzzle- they may be travelling and muzzles are required, they may be anxious around strangers or other dogs, they may enjoy eating things they aren’t supposed to, they may prefer a bit of extra space, or they may be practicing good muzzle skills for vet appointments and more!
If you encounter someone with a dog wearing a muzzle, be kind and recognize that they are doing their best to promote safety and comfort for everyone- including their dog and your family!

The best time to prepare for muzzle use, is before it’s needed. A poorly fitting, or negatively conditioned, muzzle can add to fear and stress. Proactive, positive, muzzle training means that if your dog needs one, it’s not a shock. However, it’s never too late!
